Gift of Health Gala

My creative partner and I were charged with developing the theme for the Group Health Community Foundation's Gift of Health Gala. The Gala was the primary fundraiser for the Foundation, funding many community health initiatives.

I developed a fictional character for our 1920's explorer-and-travel-themed event and created an entertaining story arc that played out from our first piece to our last. Our "correspondence" from our character to his benefactors (our audience) detailed his adventure, culminating in a magnificent discovery.

Work included theme development, mood boards to establish the look of the event, the invitation suite, and event material. For the event itself, we found an actor to play our character; I coached him and wrote his keynote speech.

We had an unprecedented response, exceeding the attendance of any previous year's Gala and raising more money than ever before.
