Special Olympics USA Games
Kaiser Permanente was the Official Medical Sponsor of the Special Olympics 2018 USA Games. More than 4,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, and 10,000 volunteers, and 50,000 spectators flocked to Seattle from all 50 states and D.C. for a week of competition and celebration of sport and inclusion.
I partnered with another ACD to develop a campaign concept and present the work to Kaiser Permanente regional and national leaders for approval. Our “Rise and Thrive” campaign featured Special Olympics Washington athletes who were also Kaiser Permanente members. My ACD partner and I were a dyad, leading the creative team—and partnering with our branded events team—to produce numerous deliverables, experiences and activations, and comprehensive content prior to and during the week of the Games.
Highlight: Coordinating teams of writers and photographers for daily reporting and other content production during the week of the Games. Interviewing, writing, editing, photography and photo selection, and publishing took place throughout the day and late into each night.
